About This Series
The 50 State Quarters program ran from 1999 to 2008, issuing five new designs per year in the order states ratified the Constitution - Delaware first, Hawaii last. The program is credited with getting tens of millions of Americans into coin collecting who had never touched a coin book before. Silver proof versions exist for each date, and satin finish specimens appeared in certain years. DC and five territories were added in 2009. A collector's complete set of clad business strikes from both Philadelphia and Denver runs to 100 coins; the silver proof set goes much further for serious collectors.
